A ribbon has been cut to mark the opening of Tribulation and Trust. The grand opening of the community homeless shelter was held Thursday with the Washington Chamber of Commerce Chamber Ambassadors. The shelter is located at 604 South Iowa Avenue. The facility helps those in need and provides breakfast and supper each day. Director Darren Brown tells KCII News that he previously ran a similar ministry in Pennsylvania that’s still in operation and felt called to open this when he and his wife moved back to Iowa. The center provides emergency housing, a food pantry, clothing, and transportation for men, women, and children.
