The Whitesell building will soon be in the City of Washington’s hands. At Tuesday’s council meeting, a roof inspection and an environmental services contract were approved. City Administrator Brent Hinson shared a timeline, “We think that the closing on the property would be around April 1st, just with a lot of contingencies there. I can’t say that for sure. And then we think that the least would begin, you know, May 1st or thereabouts.” He did say there is a client, but it was not named. The manufacturer closed in the fall. The building on the south side of town is being gifted to the city by the company for job development.
