Southeast Iowa’s own Cali Wilson who performed on NBC’s The Voice is holding a homecoming concert. The Mt. Pleasant alumna will be performing some of her original songs, along with covers of hits. Wilson says it’s a full-circle moment for her to be on the stage of Memorial Auditorium in Burlington, as that’s where she saw her first concert. Wilson will be joined on stage with fellow The Voice contestants Katie Kadan, Max Boyle, and Alex Guthrie, “I’m actually just excited to kind of take them around and show them where I grew up and all the places I used to frequent, and some of my favorite places to eat possibly. We’re only here for a short time so we’re going to make the most of it while we’re here. I’m more excited to show them kind of ‘Iowa nice.’ So, everybody up in Iowa is so nice and we’re known for being incredibly humble and welcoming people. So they’re just going to get a really warm welcome from everybody, and I’m most excited to see their reaction to that.”
Since her time on the show, she’s spent some time in the recording studio in Nashville. The Burlington concert will be held February 22nd doors open at 7 p.m. at Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are available for purchase online. She’ll also perform in July in Mt. Pleasant at the Henry County Fair.
