A Washington man was taken into custody early Saturday morning following a wreck in the northeast part of the city. Just before 2:30a.m. Saturday, January 25th, officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Taylor Austin Stout of Washington. Stout did not yield to authorities and then was involved in an accident shortly thereafter. Following the collision, Stout fled north bound on foot and was eventually apprehended by officers from the Washington Police Department near the intersection of East Third Street and North Sixth Avenue. Stout faces charges of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and interference with official acts. OWI charges are pending on lab test results and a search warrant request on the vehicle has also been filed. Stout was taken into custody at the Washington County Jail.
