In a makeup doubleheader the Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams are back on the floor tonight when they welcome the Camanche Indians to Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman. The Golden Hawk boys come in with an overall record of 3-10 after falling to Iowa City Regina on the road Tuesday 65-47 behind 17 points from Ethan Trimpe. On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Carter Harmsen at 12 points per game. Brad Tornow leads the team with 57 assists and Aidan Rath is best on the boards with 81 total rebounds.
The Camanche boys come into the game with an overall record of 11-1. Last time out they beat North Cedar Tuesday 83-44 behind 23 points from Cameron Soenksen. On the season the Indians are led by Caleb Delzell at 16 points per game. He is also the team leader with 115 rebounds. LJ Henderson paces the Indians with 41 assists. These two teams met a season ago with the Indians scoring a 72-43 win in Wellman with Cameron Soenksen scoring a game high 22 points.
The Mid-Prairie girls come into the game with an overall record of 4-10. The Hawks were beaten at Regina 46-34 Tuesday with Maddie Nonnenmann scoring eight points. On the season Nonnenmann leads the Golden Hawks at 11 points per game. She is also the leader on the glass with 72 boards. Amara Jones has a team best 53 steals and 48 assists.
Camanche comes in with an overall record of 5-11. In their last game they won at North Cedar 68-55 with the help of 17 points from Tarah Wehde. On the season the Indians are led by Wehde at six points per game. She has a team best 86 rebounds and Lauren Snyder leads the Indians with 31 assists. Last year the Golden Hawks won the matchup 48-38 with Caitlyn Riggan and Myah Lugar each scoring 12. It’s a varsity only doubleheader that begins at 5p.m. at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
