It was round two in an area Southeast Iowa Super Conference battle with Highland hosting Winfield-Mt. Union and like the first meeting in December the night ended in a split.

The WMU girls capped off the season sweep of the Huskies with a 45-30 victory. The Wolves led 8-7 after one and 20-15 at the break before getting some breathing room in the final two quarters for the double-digit win. Freshman Melina Oepping recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the team. Kyndal Townsley tallied 11 points and Bradie Buffington hauled in 11 boards with five blocks for the now 9-8 Wolves. Alyssa Brase led the 4-15 Huskies with nine points and nine rebounds.

It took a buzzer-beater in the first meeting for the Highland boys to hold off WMU, but fans didn’t have to sweat this one out with the Huskies having a comfortable 63-40 win. The first eight minutes set the tone for the entire game with Highland jumping out to a 21-7 advantage and they kept WMU at arm’s length the rest of the way. It was 47-34 at the end of three and a big fourth quarter put the game out of reach. Mason McFarland had a trio of threes to finish with 18 points, Zack Lasek had 16 points with eight rebounds, and Bill Laughlin managed 14 points for a Huskie team that improves to 14-2. WMU drops to 4-11.
