If betting on high school sports was legal, putting money down on the WACO boys’ basketball team every game might be the easiest way to see the wallet grow fatter. The Warriors stayed unbeaten on Tuesday night by traveling to Danville and they had little trouble in a 72-45 rout.
It was a business-like road trip with WACO holding a 17-11 lead after eight minutes and 38-24 at the break. Outscoring the Bears 20-6 in the third put the game out of reach and the Warriors captured a season sweep against their division foe. Nik Coble made it look too easy with 21 points on nine of 12 shooting, 13 rebounds, eight assists, six steals, and five blocks. Pietro Vannini and Elijah McGohan each had 11 points for the now 16-0 Warriors.
The WACO girls fell behind 27-15 at the break against the Bears and could never fully recover in a 46-39 loss. They fall to 3-14.
Both Warrior teams return to action tonight hosting Holy Trinity.
