Emergency crews responded to a fire in Brighton today. Shortly after 1 p.m. emergency officials were notified of a shop building on fire in the 400 block of railroad street. As heard live at the scene from KCII, a detached garage was engulfed with smoke billowing from the roof. Washington fire department, Brighton fire department, Washington county sheriff personnel, and Alliant Energy assisted in the scene. KCII will bring more information as it becomes available.
