Four Washington wrestlers competed in Fairfield on Saturday for the Southern Iowa Classic and one was crowned a champion.

Ayden Frazer won all four matches at 160 lbs to claim a title. The junior had three pins in a combined 3:06 and then won by a 10-3 decision in the title match over Mount Pleasant’s Jaden Davis. Other finishes included Matt Collett going 2-2 at 120 lbs to finish fourth, Brayden Hartman was 2-2 at 285 lbs to place fifth, and Justin Simmering placed sixth at 132 lbs after a 2-3 day. Washington placed 12th as a team out of 14 with 54 points while Fort Madison won it all with 204.5.

It’s go-time for the Demons, as they head back to Fairfield on Saturday for sectionals.
