The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams travel to Wilton Tuesday for a River Valley Conference doubleheader against the Beavers. The Golden Hawk girls saw their modest two game winning streak snapped on Monday at Washington 45-41, despite 25 points from Maddie Nonnenmann. On the season, Nonnenmann leads the Hawks at 12 points per game. She is also the team’s leading rebounder with 90 on the year. Amara Jones has the team lead with 67 steals and 53 assists.
Wilton comes into the contest with an overall record of 5-12. The Beavers were beaten by Cascade on Saturday 72-38 with 18 points coming from Ella Caffrey. On the season, Kelsey Drake leads the team with 19 points per game. She’s the team leader with 133 rebounds, 66 steals and 42 assists. These two teams met in Wellman in early January with Mid-Prairie scoring a 62-44 win led by 16 points from Myah Lugar.
The Mid-Prairie boys are 3-13 on the year after a 61-47 loss to Washington Monday. On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Carter Harmsen at 13 points per game. Brad Tornow has the team lead with 61 assists and Aidan Rath 87 rebounds.
Wilton is 3-14 on the year. They were beaten Saturday by Cascade 55-27 with Caden Kirkman scoring 11 points and pulling down 12 rebounds for a double double. On the year the Beavers are led by Kirkman at 14 points per game. He’s pulled in a team best 169 rebounds and dished out 30 assists. These teams met on January 7th with the Hawks taking a 62-43 win led by 20 points from Ethan Trimpe. Action gets underway at 6p.m. at Wilton High School.
