Two vehicles collided on Highway 1 Sunday night and one driver was arrested. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 10:30 p.m. the wreck happened in the 1600 block of Highway 1, about five miles south of Kalona. A car slowed down to turn into a driveway and was hit from behind by another vehicle. Airbags deployed. Three Washington County Sheriff’s deputies, Kalona QRS, and Washington County Ambulance assisted at the scene. There was no medical transport. Officers arrested 46-year-old Danel Lyn Reese for operating while intoxicated.
