
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams entertain the Anamosa Blue Raiders tonight in Wellman. The Golden Hawk girls come into the game with an overall record of 6-12 after suffering back to back losses to Washington and Wilton to start the week. In their game at Wilton Tuesday the Hawks were beaten 54-42 with Colby Rourke scoring a team high 12 points. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Maddie Nonnenmann at 12 points per game. She is also the team’s leading rebounder with 90. Amara Jones leads the Mid-Prairie guards with 70 steals and 54 assists.
Anamosa comes in at 4-14 overall. The Blue Raiders beat North Cedar 62-33 on Tuesday. For the year the Raiders are led by Maggie McQuillen at eight points per game. She is also the team leader with 55 steals and 17 assists. Joslin Banowetz has a team best 66 rebounds. These two teams met a year ago with the Hawks getting a 43-41 road win with Maddie Nonnenmann scoring 11.
The Mid-Prairie boys enter play with a 4-13 overall record. They split games so far this week, falling to Washington Monday 61-47 before getting a road win at Wilton Tuesday 51-42 with Ethan Trimpe scoring 12 and Aidan Rath 10. On the year the Hawks are led by Carter Harmsen at 13 points per game. Brad Tornow has a team best 72 assists and 25 steals and Aidan Rath leads the Hawks on the boards with 98.
Anamosa is 3-13 coming into tonight. They beat North Cedar last time out 66-60. On the year the Blue Raiders are led by Sam Wilt at 16 points per game. He also leads the team with 49 assists, 44 blocks, 41 steals and 100 rebounds. A year ago, the Hawks fell on the road 73-66.
