The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team is on their home floor tonight when they welcome the Durant Wildcats to Wellman. The Golden Hawks are 6-13 on the season, winners of three straight including Friday when they took down No. 8 West Branch on the road 47-41 behind Aidan Rath with 18 points and Carter Harmsen with 17. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Harmsen at 13 points per game. Rath leads the Hawks on the glass with 116 rebounds. Brad Tornow is best on the team with 80 assists and 28 steals.
Durant is 9-11 on the year. They lost at Cascade Saturday 45-27. Joe Lilienthal leads the Wildcats at 14 points per game. He also has a team best 116 rebounds. Drew Delong has dished out 64 assists. These two teams met a month ago in Durant with the Wildcats scoring a 62-52 win.
This game will also feature a ceremony for the 1970 Mid-Prairie boys basketball team. They are celebrating their 50th anniversary as the first Mid-Prairie boys basketball team to qualify for the state tournament, they finished as runners-up. Action will begin at 7:15 at Mid-Prairie High School.
