The Highland wrestling team made a long trip to Gilbertville last night for class 1A regional duals and the Huskies fell in the first round.

Highland battled #2 ranked powerhouse Don Bosco and lost by a final tally of 84-0. There were eight contested matches and the Dons won by fall in each of them. Highland’s five individuals that qualified for districts did not compete in the dual.

The team dual season comes to a close for the Huskies, but Bryce Thompson, Cael Yeggy, Easton Schlabaugh, Carlos Valenzuela, and Eli Slaymaker all have a chance to qualify for state on Saturday at English Valleys.
