This year’s Mid-Prairie Spring Family Academy will feature one recognizable Iowa Hawkeye fan. Carson King will headline the event, speaking on his $3 million donation to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. King’s claim to fame was his sign that was shown on the television program College Gameday where he asked viewers to send him money for beer. His joke turned positive when thousands of dollars started flooding into his account, and he took the opportunity to do something positive by donating to the children’s hospital. The Spring Family Academy will take place on April 7th. All Mid-Prairie staff and high school students are able to register for this event. Pre-registration will be required for this event through the school.
