
The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team saw their season come to an end Saturday when they fell at No. 14 West Liberty 66-37 in the first round of the class 3A playoffs. The Comets got it going early, opening the game on an 11-0 run. The Comets led 19-10 after the first. They put together a 9-0 run in the second to take a 37-22 lead into the half. West Liberty continued to methodically pull away the rest of the night, winning the third quarter 13-8 and the final frame 15-9 to secure the win. Maddie Nonnenmann came back from a wrist injury to lead Mid-Prairie with 10 points. The Hawks end their season with a 7-15 overall record.
