Two men have been arrested after a long string of burglaries in Jefferson County. According to the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, at least eight businesses have been broken into since the summer of 2019, including Impact Fitness, Fairfield Golf and Country Club, the Eagles Club in Fairfield, and Boyd’s Grocery in Keosauqua where possession of stolen property was reported, as well as stolen lottery tickets being redeemed. The two arrested are Brian Mcguire of Birmingham and Michael Ennen of Fairfield. Neither one is accused of committing all of the crimes. The county attorney’s office stated, “In addition to stealing cash and other valuables, the perpetrators committed acts of criminal mischief and pointless vandalism against the local businesses.” The list of charges filed include felony conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal mischief, lottery fraud, and ongoing criminal conduct. Individuals who have information regarding these burglaries are encouraged to contact the Fairfield Police Department.
