The Iowa Secondary State Leadership Conference for members of Iowa Business Professionals of America was held in Des Moines and 55 Washington High School students attended. These students then competed in 25 different events. Those who excelled in the competitions qualified for the National Leadership Conference to be held in May in Washington, D.C. The Demons had 26 students finish in the top 10 in the state in their events and 18 qualified as top contestants to attend Nationals.
While at the conference in Des Moines, Washington senior Kinsey Duwa conducted her final meeting as the president of Iowa BPA. Washington’s BPA advisor is Shelly Duwa.
