A Department of Transportation permit for Alliant Energy, planning and zoning recommendations, and more will be discussed at the next Kalona City Council meeting. The council will also consider moving the March 16th meeting to March 23rd due to scheduling conflicts. The meeting will start with a work session for potential sidewalk projects in the city starting at 6 p.m. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says they have $100,000 for the current fiscal year for capital projects, such as sidewalk improvements and repairs. The Council also agreed to save $40,000 for future capital projects for the next fiscal year. The council will then begin the normal meeting starting at 7 p.m. at the Kalona Community Center.
