The Highland School Board has finalized their plans for a new playground. Superintendent Ken Crawford tells KCII News the project will cost an estimated $388,000. It is being funded by a $3.7 million bond measure approved in September. Other projects funded through this bond measure were a new air conditioning and heating system at the middle and high schools, and storage space for the fine arts program. New playground equipment to be added to the site will be slides, monkey bars, a ninja course, and a glide swinger to make the park more inclusive, as it can be used by people who use wheelchairs. Construction is set to start on June 1st and be finished by August 15th.
