A special election is being held Tuesday in the Washington School District. The two items on the ballot are tied to funding. Washington Community Schools Superintendent Willie Stone explains the items are to extend the physical plant and equipment levy, often called PPEL, for another 10 years. These are already in place and help fund the district’s technology, building, and transportation budgets. Stone says the measures would be extended at current rates.

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Washington County Courthouse for residents of Cedar, Franklin, Highland, Jackson, Oregon, and Washington Townships. Residents of the City of Brighton and the Brighton, Clay, Dutch Creek, and Marion Townships in Washington County as well as the Penn and Walnut Townships in Jefferson County will vote at the Brighton Community Building. Listen to KCII for results Tuesday evening.
