Learn the difference between a severe thunderstorm watch and warning, what cloud shapes are associated with storms, and how to report what you see with a storm spotter class. Washington County Emergency Preparedness and the National Weather Service will be presenting a storm spotter training in Washington this month. The NWS states the goal of the course is to provide a baseline for weather spotters and safety considerations of all hazards. The KCII Severe Weather Action Team are all trained weather spotters.
The class will be Thursday, March 19th at 6 p.m. at the Washington Public Library. The class is free and open to the public.
