Speech

Seven Huskies led the pack into the district individual speech contest and found success along the way. The Highland High School speech team ended up with a record five students advancing to the state contest. Those students advancing include: Matt Butler, Isaac Black, Kadin Jepson, Brendan Schnoebelen, and Jacob Allen. The Huskies will be performing in a variety of different categories, including: improvisation, spontaneous speaking, radio news announcing, and expository address. The students will be performing at Grinnell High School on March 14th for the state competition. The team is led by Middle School Social Studies teacher Jayme Kallaus.
