Residents of the Washington Community School District voted on two public measures, both passed. Public measure A was a revenue purpose statement and it passed with 110 votes in favor and 32 opposed, 77% approved. Public measure B was to extend the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy, or PPEL funding, it passed with 73% of voters in favor. The PPEL funds will be extended another 10 years at the current rate.

Polling places were open in both Washington and Brighton and 143 voters cast ballots in the special election, just over two percent of the registered voters taking part in Tuesday’s election.
