Legends like Bear Bryant, Tua Tagovailoa, and even Forrest Gump are no strangers to winning championships on the gridiron at the University of Alabama. One Washington High School athlete will try to add another championship banner to the school, but in another sport, as Braeden Duwa signed his letter of intent to join the Crimson Tide’s trapshooting team.
The senior has been competitively trapshooting for five years and on Saturday he put pen to paper on his commitment. Duwa tells KCII Sports the coach reached out to him to visit Tuscaloosa during winter break and it instantly felt like home. “To be completely honest before the trip I didn’t think I was going to attend there, but I showed up and everything changed. Everyone was really nice and it felt like a true family. I was treated like a brother and we have been in contact ever since.” Title aspirations are already on Duwa’s mind for year one. “We have some good recruits coming in and a goal of ours is to win a national championship in San Antonio. I would like to have an individual title in either international skeet or trapshooting.”
The senior plans on double majoring in mechanical engineering and finance. Listen to our full interview with Braeden and his killer “ROLL TIDE” impression by clicking on the audio below.
