Washington, Keokuk, Jefferson, Henry, and Louisa Counties are part of a Red Flag Warning from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service issued the warning for strong winds with low humidity and dry vegetation. The Red Flag Warning means that the conditions could contribute to extreme fire behavior, where fires could easily and quickly get out of control and spread rapidly. During Red Flag Warnings outdoor burning is not recommended.
