The WACO Warrior basketball team enjoyed a school record season this year. One of the staples of the 2019-20 edition of the Warriors was their effort on the defensive end. WACO surrendered just 42.9 points per game this season, ninth best in class 1A. The Warriors finished with 231 steals and 82 blocked shots. Nik Coble led the Warriors and was second in the Superconference South Division with 41 blocked shots and third with 62 steals. WACO pulled down a conference best 534 defensive rebounds. Coble led the way on the defensive glass with 215 boards, most in the Superconference and fourth in Iowa. WACO posted the first ever undefeated regular season in program history and ended the year 22-1.
