A 20-win season meant a lot of representation on the Southeast Iowa Super Conference boys’ basketball all conference teams for Highland, as the Huskies recently had five seniors recognized.
Zack Lasek and Mason McFarland headlined the selections being named to the first team. The 6’8’’ Lasek was a load inside tallying 16.7 points per game and a league best 10.3 rebounds. McFarland was top five in the division with 14.4 points a night including shooting 34% from long range. The senior also got it done at the other end finishing first in the league in steals with 76.
Cole Adamson was a second team selection. He added depth to the scoring department with 11.6 points a contest and his 72 assists led the team. Bill Laughlin and Derick Sandburg each received honorable mention. Laughlin tallied 7.9 points and dished out 39 assists while Sandburg brought in 4.7 boards a night and had 54 assists.
Highland finished the season with a 20-5 record and a trip to the district title game.
