Vine Avenue in Riverside will see some changes in the near future. Washington County officials approached the Riverside City Council about a project to fix three culverts and level out some ditches along Vine Avenue. The issue at play is the avenue is partially owned by the city and partially owned by the county. The council, at their latest meeting, approved to pursue the project, but will require some right of way acquisitions from the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in order to continue. Preliminary agreements have been reached by the city and county. The county estimated this project could cost the city $86,000, according to City Administrator Christine Yancey. This item will continue to be discussed at further city council meetings.
