Four Sigourney girls’ basketball players received postseason accolades from the South Iowa Cedar League being named to the all conference teams.
Megan Stuhr and Kaylee Weber headlined the selections being named to the first team. Stuhr, a unanimous selection, was a walking bucket finishing with 21 points per game to rank second in the league. She also led the team with 64 assists, 78 steals, and 44 blocks. The senior was recently named third team all state in class 1A by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Weber was relentless on the glass, finishing fifth in the conference with 8.1 rebounds a night and her 13.5 points ranked sixth. The junior shot 48% from the floor and created 33 steals.
Makenna Hammes was named to the second team. The 5’10’’ senior was a force down low with eight points and seven rebounds a contest. Macy Fisch was recognized as honorable mention. The freshman hauled in 60 rebounds, recorded 28 assists, and forced 29 steals.
The four players helped the Savages to an 18-5 season and finish third in the SICL.
