The Unites States Bowling Congress (USBC) in Iowa is holding its 2020 Pepsi State Tournament this weekend in Waterloo and two Washington bowlers qualified for the event.
Demon sophomore Ethan Zieglowsky will be competing in the Under 17 years of age division and Kaeden Zear will participate in the Under 10 division. Both individuals qualified for state after cracking the top two at districts last month in Oskaloosa. Zieglowsky placed first with a three-game series score of 748 and Zear was second in his age group with a 402 two-game score. The duo will look for repeated success, as they both were top dogs at state last year.
Zieglowsky and Zear hit the lanes Sunday at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo with all of the action starting at 9:30 a.m. The U17 bowlers will have a total of six games with the first place winner advancing to the Junior Gold Championships in Las Vegas. The U10 participants will compete in three games.
