While temperatures have been warmer than normal in Washington for the start of March, no record highs have been recorded. According to the National Weather Service, on Sunday the high temperature in Washington was observed at 71 degrees but the record was set at 75 degrees in 2000. In the first 10 days of the month the average temperature has been 40.4 degrees, above the normal 32.8 degrees. Total precipitation has been nearly double the normal three-quarters of an inch.
