The Columbus and Highland boys’ track teams started up their season on Tuesday participating at the annual Dickinson Relays in Cedar Falls.
Athletes from all classes were competing and the Wildcats’ Tucker Bright had a solid showing in the long jump placing 30th out of 138 with a leap of 19’6’’. Jaime Villegas placed 72nd in the same event with a jump of 18’4’’. Felix Solis was 125th in the 60m dash (7.81) and Mason Hodges finished 112th in the shot put (36’9.25’’). Brenton Bonebrake had the top Huskie finish placing 22nd out of 61 in the high jump with a leap of 5’10’’. Other notable Huskie performances included Kadin Jepsen 57th in the 200m (24.85), Connor Grinstead 74th in the long jump (18’3’’), and Bill Laughlin 87th in the same event (17’10’’).
The outdoor season gets underway March 26th.
