The Washington County Conservation Board is continuing efforts to create a wedding rental contract for future ceremonies at Marr Park. Center Coordinator Randi Brase and Executive Director Zach Rozmus told the board about an increase in weddings being booked at Marr Park. Brase and Rozmus have created various drafts of a wedding rental agreement, which includes a Hold Harmless Clause. This clause would absolve either one or both parties of legal liability in the case of injury or damages. One board member was curious why weddings were the cause for such a contract, and Rozmus says a wedding has more planning and people involved than most other events held at the park. This contract would be applied to the open shelters only. The latest draft of the contract sets a $50 deposit and an agreement to work with conservation officials on location and plans for the wedding. This item will continue to be discussed at future board meetings.
