The Kalona Public Library is keeping students and adults alike busy while they may be home. The library announced that they are offering library materials to those who call in orders. Library officials ask patrons to call library staff two hours in advance to be able to fulfill orders as quickly as possible, and to call again once individuals are in front of the library for curbside pick up. If a call cannot be made, individuals are asked to knock at the door and someone will be there to bring the checked out materials. Co-library Director Olivia Kahler tells KCII News, book orders can be vague, for example a fourth grade reading level book, or you can request specific titles. Kahler recommends parents keep their children on a schedule while they are at home. The library is also looking at digital platforms to continue their regularly scheduled story time. The phone number for the Kalona Public Library is 319-656-3501.
