The middle of March every year is usually when the high school spring sports ramp up, but due to growing novel coronavirus concerns the start of the season will have to wait at least a month.
On Monday the Iowa High School Unified Activities partners announced that all activities would be prohibited for four weeks in response to Governor Kim Reynolds’ recommendation to close all K-12 schools in Iowa for that duration. The Iowa High School Unified Activities partners include the Iowa High School Athletic Association, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Iowa High School Music Association, and Iowa High School Speech Association.
The current suspension would extend through April 10th and will be updated accordingly. Stay tuned to KCII for any changes.
