In an effort to social distance, people are encouraged to complete business online or by phone if possible. Washington County Treasurer Jeff Garrett is asking the community for help in preventing the spread of illness like novel coronavirus. Property tax and motor vehicle renewal payments can be made online, mailed in, made over the phone, or placed in the drop box by the west door of the courthouse.

He adds that many licenses can be renewed online. Garrett says that driver’s licenses are valid for 60 days after the expiration date and no testing is required for late renewal for up to one year after the expiration of the grace period.
