Former Washington wrestling standout Tristin Westphal-Edwards continues to shine at the next level on the mat and in the classroom.

The Coe College freshman was one of four Kohawk Wrestlers to be named a Scholar All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a 3.2 GPA or better for the previous academic semester, place in the top six at their respective regional tournament, have a win percentage of .500 or better, and compete in half of the school’s scheduled competition. In his first season wearing the crimson and gold, Westphal-Edwards posted a 20-5 record at 174 lbs and just missed out on a national tournament appearance by placing fifth at the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional.

The Washington alum finished his prep career last winter standing on top of the podium as a class 2A 182 lbs champ.
