A Brighton man was arrested on multiple charges including assault on peace officers with use or display of a weapon on Thursday. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at noon Thursday an officer was on a vehicle stop when the driver fled on foot. In total nine officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, and Washington Police responded. They arrested 31-year-old Steven Lee Myers. Myers was charged with driving while barred, two counts of reckless driving, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault on a peace officer with use or display of a weapon, interference with official acts with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of assault while participating in a felony. Myers was taken to the Washington County Jail.
