Iowa schools have been ordered closed for four weeks and that has been a hard hit for many seniors in high school, one local mom wanted to still find a way to celebrate her twin daughters’ birthday safely. Kerri Bell organized a surprise parade for her daughters Sophie and Ellie. The pair are seniors at Washington High School. On Thursday night, as the girls celebrated their 18th birthday at home they were surprised by a parade of family and friends in their personal vehicles and tractors, some with decorations and signs. A total of 44 vehicles helped celebrate as Ellie and Sophie waved from their rural driveway. The celebration was done with social distancing in mind, so as to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Kerri Bell tells KCII News that it was more than she imagined and on Friday everyone in their house was still smiling, Kerri, Lance, Sophie, and Ellie.
