The City of Kalona has closed their offices until further notice to help stop the spread of COVID-19. All city officials will still be available by email and phone if citizens have business to conduct. The city has set up ways for citizens to pay their utility bills online or by phone. A 3% processing fee plus 85 cents will be charged if citizens decide to pay online. Alternatively, a $1 processing fee will be applied to those who pay by phone. Citizens will also have the option of dropping off payments via the Dropbox, the building mailbox, or an in person cash or check payment. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh asks citizens to call city hall ahead of time if they would like to pay in person. The city staff will continue to give updates on office availability when possible through their websites and social media pages.
