Things may not be happening on the track just yet around southeast Iowa, but behind the scenes at the Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, the wheels are still turning. Both groups have announced their 2020 state qualifying track and field sites. For class 2A, and the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks, sites around the state include Cascade, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Hudson, Manson Northwest Webster, Tipton, Treynor, West Marshall or West Sioux. Yearly, these assignments are handed down with geography in mind, meaning that Mid-Prairie will likely end up at either Tipton or Eddyville-Blakesburg. Eddyville is the more likely location of those two, with Mid-Prairie having been there every year since 2016.
