In the offseason, Mid-Prairie standout track and cross country athlete Marie Hostetler impressed on the national stage. Hostetler ran in the Nike Cross Nationals, touted as the unofficial team national championship of United States High School cross country. She qualified for the national event with a third place finish at the Heartland Regional at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Finishing with a time of 17:27. At nationals in Portland, Oregon, Hostetler was 34th of more than 200 competitors with her time of 18:25. After graduation from Mid-Prairie she will join the Liberty University Flames track and field and cross country teams next fall in Lynchburg, Virginia.
