March in Washington was warmer than normal. According to the National Weather Service the normal average temperature for March is 37.6 degrees and this year it was observed at 40.8 degrees. The precipitation was also above normal. The normal total precipitation for the month is 2.34 inches and this year it was about half an inch higher. So far this year in Washington, the average temperature has been almost three degrees above normal, observed at 30.9 degrees.
