PAWS and More animal shelter in Washington is asking for the public’s help with stray animals during the COVID-19 public health crisis. PAWS and More Director Amber Talbot shares the shelter remains closed to the public, and is only allowing staff and animals inside at this time to protect everyone. They state that reducing animal intake is one of the best strategies animal shelters have in keeping staff safe. PAWS is asking the public to care for stray animals while we wait out the crisis. PAWS will accept stray animals only if there is an immediate need to ensure the welfare of the animal. The shelter can provide pet food to those housing strays.
Animals in the shelter are still awaiting their forever homes. Adoption applications can be completed on their website and an appointment can be made to meet an animal. The shelter has dogs, cats, and rabbits available for adoption. Talbot says the greatest need at this time is foster homes for cats.
