Updated data released Friday shows Iowa with 699 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 11 total deaths. Of the confirmed cases, Washington County has 43. Washington County ranks fourth in total number of cases, but number one in cases per capita. Linn County has 118, Polk County has 100, and Johnson County has 83. Washington County Public Health Director Danielle Pettit-Majewski says Washington County has 25% of the state’s COVID-19 deaths at three total.

People are urged to practice social distancing, wash their hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds, and stay home when ill to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
