Pick out your favorite book or a new article and drop everything and read this Sunday. The Washington Public Library is organizing the event encouraging people to read at home.

Librarian Jenisa Harris explains the event is for all ages, “So it’s kind of like a reading mob flash-mob style, and so we are going to encourage everybody to drop what they’re doing that afternoon, find a comfy spot, and read with their family. We’re kind of encouraging a community read session without having to see anyone, so you can still practice social distancing with reading at the same time other people are.”

Drop everything and read this Sunday afternoon from 1-3 p.m. And then post photos on the Washington Public Library’s Facebook page of you and your family reading in their favorite spot at home. If you’re looking for new materials to read, the library has free online collections of books, audio books, and magazines.
