For one Washington County family, time spent at home during social distancing efforts turned into an opportunity to share a message with the community. Makenzie Flynn tells KCII news, that her family was taking time out for arts and crafts when her six-year-old daughter Emerson wanted to make something to make people feel better. While their first idea was to decorate their windows with hearts and rainbows, they decided to do something more visible. They posted an 8×4 foot sign at the end of their driveway on the corner of 250th street (Old 92) and Keokuk Washington. When Emerson was asked why she wanted create a sign she said, ‘to spread hope, love, happiness and give thanks.” You can see a picture of their sign with this story at KCIIradio.com.
