The Henry County Conservation Department is inviting families to enjoy the full moon during a hike. This one-hour guided hike is free for all ages, but children must be accompanied by a participating adult. Participants will learn all about the full moon, why it happens, and the phases of the moon. The department asks hikers to wear closed toed shoes, practice social distancing, and use the restroom before they head out due to conservation buildings being closed to the public. Hand sanitizer will not be provided so individuals will have to bring their own. Naturalist Cari Nicely says hikes were the most recommended event for the department to host by the public. She also says that in the situation of bad weather, the event will be cancelled and not rescheduled. This hike will embark from Turtle Town outside the Oakland Mills Nature Center on April 7th at 7 p.m.
