
Mid-Prairie standout cross country and track athlete Marie Hostetler has finalized her collegiate plans. Hostetler, a senior, signed officially last week to run both cross country and track and field at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She has had a decorated career at Mid-Prairie including three consecutive class 2A individual state championships in cross country, one individual state runner-up as well as being part of three consecutive team state championships, and a four time team state qualifier. On the track she is a six time event state champion winning championships in the 3,000 and sprint medley relay in 2018 and going quadruple gold at the 2019 state meet, winning 2A championships in the 800, 1,500, 3,000 and sprint medley relay. Led by Hostetler, the Golden Hawks were the 2018 and 2019 class 2A state team track champions. Hostetler was also a Nike Cross Nationals qualifier this winter where she finished 34th of more than 200 athletes from across the country in Portland, Oregon. The event is considered the high school national championships for cross country. She will join her older sister Anna at Liberty University.
